Art Program Overview
We offer art programs for students of all ages and skill levels. Our curriculum is designed to inspire creativity while building strong artistic foundations at every stage. Whether your child is just beginning to explore art or preparing to pursue art at the college level, our programs guide students step by step through traditional and digital art techniques. Ages 5–6: Early Art Exploration Young artists begin by exploring animals, cartoon characters, basic shapes, and proportions. They gradually develop an understanding of three-dimensional forms while learning to observe and draw the world around them. Students work with oil pastels & colored pencils to develop color awareness, hand-eye coordination, and basic drawing skills. Weekly assignments are provided to reinforce skills learned in class and encourage continued practice at home. Ages 7–10: Building Skills & Creativity Students develop foundational skills in pencil drawing, oil pastels, colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and introductory digital art. They learn about light and shadow, perspective, composition, and color theory, while beginning to explore digital drawing tools. Students are encouraged to experiment with different materials and develop their own creativity and artistic interests. Ages 11–17: Advanced Traditional & Digital Art Students continue to strengthen their drawing and painting skills using a wide range of traditional media, including pencil, charcoal, markers, watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting. The program also introduces digital art, illustration, and animation using tools such as Photoshop, Blender, Figma, and Procreate. Students study more advanced concepts including composition, perspective, human anatomy, proportions, light and shadow, color, and visual storytelling. They are also encouraged to participate in art competitions, where they gradually learn how to develop original ideas and create stronger, more personal artwork. Ages 13–18: Portfolio & Competition Preparation Students preparing for art school applications, college admissions, or major art competitions receive more advanced and individualized instruction. Students work toward developing a strong college art portfolio, typically consisting of 12–25 carefully selected artworks. Instruction may include portfolio development, conceptual development, artwork selection, presentation, competition preparation, and application strategy. Students are encouraged to participate in more art competitions and exhibitions to gain experience, strengthen their portfolios, and develop confidence in presenting their work. Our goal is to help each student develop a distinctive artistic voice and a competitive portfolio for college applications. Adults: Ages 19+Our adult art classes welcome beginners, experienced artists, and anyone returning to art after many years. In a relaxed and supportive environment, students can develop fundamental drawing and painting skills while exploring their own artistic interests. Classes can be adapted to different skill levels and interests, including drawing, painting, watercolor, acrylic, oil painting, and other traditional art techniques. Explore. Create. Grow. At Art Corner Studio, we believe that artistic development is a journey. Our goal is to help every student build skills step by step, discover their creativity, develop confidence, and achieve their individual artistic goals. Studio Use Policy
